Children’s book made together with Marta Lourenço, the story writer behind these illustrations.
The book is for children 8 years old or older. This is the story of a girl, Flor da Manhã (Morning Flower) and a boy, Vertigem de Puma (Puma’s Vertigo), belonging to the tribe that was balanced in the Line of the Equator. It is also a story of a storytelling grandmother that, under the starry sky of Alentejo (Portugal), teaches her granddaughter that life is made of choices and love is the best of all.
For this book, and because it’s for older children than The Blue Boy, I chose a cleaner and more serious type of illustration. Because it’s a story about a tribe I picked a more geometrical way of representing these characters.
